The Clean Seal™ Process: The best air quality your home can get.
1. Technician Arrival: A Clean pro will arrive at your home at the scheduled time, ready to begin the duct cleaning and sealing process.
2. Initial Inspection: The homeowner will guide the technician to the HVAC system and all register locations, enabling a thorough assessment of the ductwork layout.
3. Duct Cleaning Setup: The technician will set up the specialized duct cleaning equipment, carefully preparing your system for a comprehensive clean.
4. Sealing Registers: All air registers will be temporarily sealed for the cleaning process and ensure no debris escapes into your home.
5. Duct Cleaning: Using a high-powered, whip-like cleaning tool, the technician will meticulously clean each register and duct, removing accumulated dust, debris, and contaminants.
6. Duct Sealing Preparation: Once the ducts are clean, the technician will switch equipment, connecting the Aeroseal duct sealing machine to prepare for the sealing process.
7. Pre-Seal Diagnostic: The technician will conduct a pre-seal test to assess and document the initial level of duct leakage, providing a baseline for the sealing process.
8. Duct Sealing: With the Aeroseal technology, the technician will then seal the ductwork from the inside, targeting and eliminating leaks, ensuring no future air loss or contaminant entry.
9. Post-Seal Verification: After the sealing process, a post-seal report will be generated, detailing the effectiveness of the seal and the significant reduction in air leakage.
10. Equipment Dismantling: The technician will disconnect the Aeroseal duct sealing machine and remove all seals from the registers, restoring your HVAC system to its optimal setup.
11. Clean-Up and Review: The technician will ensure that all equipment is packed away and the work area is left clean. They will then review the completed job with the homeowner, providing the post-seal report and discussing the improvements in air quality and system efficiency.
12. Completion: With the job successfully completed, the technician will provide any final instructions or recommendations, ensuring the homeowner is fully satisfied with the service delivered.
Clean Seal™ FAQs
Yes! Sealing your vents and ducts directs the air where it’s needed, rather than into unused areas like your basement, attic, or crawl space. This significantly improves uneven temperatures in your home. In fact, homes with temperature differences of up to 10 degrees have seen these reduced to just 1 or 2 degrees after sealing.
Our technology is recommended for leaks 5/8 inches in diameter or smaller, where it performs best. However, the Clean Seal process can seal almost any size leak. Large holes are typically identified and manually sealed during the initial inspection before the automated sealing begins.
Some of our formula may leak into the places where your air was previously leaking – attics, garages, and wall cavities. As part of our process, we will set up professional-grade air filters/air scrubbers to suction any sealant that escapes into your living areas.
Yes. All duct materials (sheet metal, flex, duct board, etc.) can be successfully cleaned after sealing. The sealant formula is durable and will remain flexible enough to withstand subsequent cleaning over time.
All Clean Seals include a 10-year warranty. However, the sealant has been lab-tested to last up to 40 years.
The dry time can vary based on the size of your duct system and the amount of leakage. However, most jobs dry within about 2 hours.
